Our Goals for students Print E-mail
Studying the Arabic language is a serious endeavor. Therefore, the student and teacher must work together towards the successful attainment specific objectives.

Students at Sibawayh Center, upon completion of the curriculum, will have attained proficiency in the following ways:

  • They will be able to confidently converse in Arabic with native and non-native speakers alike
  • They will be able to understand Arabic as an oral language
  • They will receive strong training in the correct pronunciation of Arabic letters, with a special focus on those letters and sounds unique to the Arabic language
  • They will attain strong writing skills through numerous writing exercises
  • They will attain proficiency in reading Arabic texts of different genres
Towards achieving these goals, the curriculum of Sibawayh Center underscores the characteristics of the Arabic language that distinguish it from other languages and places an emphasis on understanding Arabic culture, civilization, and the Arabic world in its unique context.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sibawayh Center's curriculum is centered on FusHa, Modern Standard Arabic. As the student progresses to the intermediate levels, s/he is increasingly exposed to Classical Arabic through a range of texts from different time periods, its importance in understanding MSA, and the role of the Quran in preserving the Arabic language.
